On Tuesday, demolition of the former site of Vinny’s Barber Shop at 517 W. 4th Ave. began. The city purchased the building in October after the building had previously been condemned.
The demolition is estimated to cost about $30,000. The city council will decide the future use of the space, which could involve more open green space and another place for people to congregate downtown.
