PECATONICA — Junior midfielder Makayla Lara turned in a haul during the Rochelle Lady Hub varsity soccer match against Pecatonica on Thursday evening, scoring four goals while adding two assists as the purple and white dominated the Indians for a 9-0 win in its season finale.
Six different players found the net for the Lady Hubs (3-19, 0-10 Interstate 8), who will compete in the IHSA 2A Belvidere North Regional as the No. 8 seed. Rochelle will face the No. 2 seed Belvidere North in the semifinal round on Tuesday, May 14 at 4:30 p.m. The match will be held at the MercyHealth Sports Complex in Loves Park and the winner will advance to the finals.
Junior forward Jeanette Valle finished with one goal and two assists for the Lady Hubs, while four others including senior forward Haley Bozinovich, junior midfielder Emma Kennay, junior defender Betty Flores and sophomore forward Deissy Torres each scored goals in the win. Freshman goalkeeper Adyson Carter compiled five saves on defense for Rochelle.
