ROCHELLE — Rochelle Community Hospital wants its patients, specifically those that utilize its RCHMyChart online healthcare portal, to know that a text message sent by OSF HealthCare/Pointcore Partners regarding portal text message alerts is valid, and it is not a scam. Although the text may look misleading due to the text claiming it is from OSF and Pointcore, that is the system that RCH’s patient portal is actually hosted through.

“Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to change the wording of the text message itself in order to make it more clear that this is still in regards to RCH and its portal, as it came directly from the hosted system. So we are doing what we can to notify and put our patients’ minds at ease,” stated Michelle LaPage, RCH Community Foundation manager. “If patients want to continue to receive text message alerts regarding their health care through the portal, they must follow the instructions as indicated by the text message.”

There are three ways in which patients may choose to opt-in to continue to receive text message updates from the portal: Text START to 90373, Go to your OSF MyChart communication preferences and select the VERIFY or SUBSCRIBE button, and Allow a member of RCH staff to opt you in manually when prompted at the time of check-in.
