ROCHELLE —Rochelle Middle School recently congratulated its seventh-grade students for their efforts in the RMS speech meet on March 5.
Arabella Marruffo led the team by earning first place in Humorous Interpretation and Radio Speaking. Daphne Wise who earned second place in Verse Reading and Impromptu Speaking. A third-place award went to Savannah Goodrich for her performance in the Humorous Interpretation event. Kaelyn Gerstel and Audrianna Massengale-Cultra were an entertaining duo in duet acting and placed fifth in their category.
The second and final speech meet was held at Rochelle Township High School with another successful round of dramatic performances. Wise placed first in both Verse Reading and Impromptu Speaking. Marruffo earned second in Humorous Interpretation and third in Radio Speaking.
Goodrich enjoyed a third-place victory in Humorous Interpretation.
“We are proud of our student accomplishments and look forward to further successes next year,” an RMS press release said.
