DeKalb – The Kishwaukee Special Recreation Association is growing.
The Kishwaukee Special Recreation Association, is a nonprofit organization that provides community-based recreation therapy programs, Camp Maple Leaf in the summers, collaboration of Special Olympics programming, and inclusion services to individuals with different abilities. Kishwaukee SRA is proud to announce the joining of two new park district member agencies – Flagg-Rochelle Park District and Sandwich Park District.
The Kishwaukee Special Recreation Association’s mission is “to serve all residents who have special needs and to facilitate the inclusion of these individuals into leisure programs” and now the organization supports its five park district member agencies – DeKalb, Flagg-Rochelle, Genoa Township, Sandwich, and Sycamore.
What does that mean for the patrons of those park districts? It means that now any individual with a different ability can participate in Kishwaukee SRA specific programming – such as Bowling, Family Fun Night Out, Social Nights, and Special events - at the resident rate and will also be supported with Inclusion services if that individual wants to participate in the park district programming as well.
