ROCHELLE — Rochelle Township High School Band Director Keaton Shumard announced last week that three students in the band program were selected to perform in the Illinois Music Educators Association District 8 Festival on Saturday, Nov. 19 at DeKalb High School.

The students who represented RTHS were Jessica Nguyen (junior, clarinet), Aiden Ramsey (junior, trombone) and Tommy Koziol (senior, trumpet).

These students performed together in the ILMEA District 8 High School Concert Band and got to work with Guest Conductor Alex Kaminsky from the VanderCook College of Music.

The group rehearsed all day and put on a concert that evening. Shumard said, "The students told me they had a good experience, and I'm very proud of all their hard work!"
