The Rochelle Little League 9-10 Girls All-Stars traveled to Rock Falls this past week to begin the District 19 Championship. Rochelle fell to Sterling by a score of 17-0 in the opening round before losing to Sterling again 15-5 in consolation play. Rochelle finished 0-2 in the tournament.

ROCK FALLS — The Rochelle Little League 9-10 Girls All-Stars traveled to Rock Falls this past week to begin the District 19 Championship. Rochelle fell to Sterling by a score of 17-0 in the opening round before losing to Sterling again 15-5 in consolation play. Rochelle finished 0-2 in the tournament.
Rochelle plated its first run in the first inning of its second game against Sterling when Briel Metzger, Rylin Tabor and Madigan Williams drew three straight walks. Emma Heller singled with two outs to keep the Rochelle offense going.
Rochelle added three more runs in the second inning after Abby Lara walked, Trianna Godina singled and Rochelle drew four straight walks courtesy of Metzger, Tabor, Williams and Nazeria Dean. Godina and Alondra Rojas walked for Rochelle in the third inning, with Rojas scoring for Rochelle’s fifth run. Metzger and Tabor added walks, while Williams reached on a hit-by-pitch. Dylan Etes and Godina walked for Rochelle in the fourth inning.
