ROCHELLE — Adelaida C. Rangel, 62, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born Aug. 29, 1956 in Wilson, Arkansas, the daughter of Gregorio Cobos and Adelaida Cobos Esmeralda. She married José Huerta on Jan. 23, 2017 in Sycamore.
Adelaida is survived by her husband, José Huerta; six children, Irma (Oscar) Castillo of Rockford, Josué Huerta of Rochelle, Jessica Huerta of DeKalb, Lisa (Luis) Huerta of DeKalb, Erica (Juan) Huerta of DeKalb, and Hector Garcia of Rochelle; nine grandchildren, Alonzo Castillo, Karina Galvan, David Castillo, Josué Huerta Jr., Christian Galván, Abel Huerta, Julián Godinez, Eliana Alcantara, and Jaela Huerta; three brothers, Gregorio (Juana) Cobos Jr. of Houston, Texas, Raul (Susana) Cobos of Rochelle, and Roberto Cobos of Rochelle; three sisters, Angie (José) Rubio of Redmond, Oregon, Hilda (Juan) Romero of Aurora, and Gloria (Terry) Gilpatrick of Georgetown, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Adelaida is preceded in death by a brother, Luis Cobos; sister, Amelia Cobos; and a niece, Lupe Cobos.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, April 26 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St. in Rochelle.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 27 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 236 Kelley Dr. in Rochelle with Father Ruben Herrera officiating. Cremation care will be provided by the Unger-Horner Funeral Home.
