ROCHELLE — Rochelle Consolidated District 231 announced Thursday that Lincoln School Principal Justin Adolph has been recognized as the Illinois Principal Association Elementary Principal of the Year for the state’s Northwest Region.

Adolph will represent Rochelle’s region as the IPA choses a state Elementary Principal of the Year from all the regional principals winners.

“While I am honored to be our region’s recipient of Elementary Principal of the Year, it is important to point out that I have been fortunate to work with teachers and staff who are committed every day to achieving our goal of providing the best educational opportunities for all students,” Adolph said. “ This recognition is a byproduct of the dedicated professionals that I get to work with in Rochelle. I am proud to be working with great teams in a great community.”

Adolph has been a principal in the Rochelle elementary district for nine years. The first seven years at Central School and the last two years at Lincoln School. Prior to taking a leadership position in Rochelle, Adolph taught fourth grade in Batavia for seven  years.

“We are excited for Mr. Adolph and his family as he receives this recognition. Mr. Adolph has worked tirelessly to promote a truly equitable learning environment during his years at Central and Lincoln Elementary Schools,” said Superintendent Jason Harper. “The growth and success of the Dual Language program is thanks in large part to his support and leadership. We are proud that Mr. Adolph’s own peers have chosen to recognize him with this honor”

“The selection committee was impressed by Mr. Adolph’s commitment to creating a positive impact for all the students of Rochelle. It is clear Mr. Adolph is highly respected by students, colleagues and the community,” Regional Office of Education Assistant Superintendent and Northwest Regional President of the IPA Chris Tennyson commented.
