ROCHELLE — Alberta T. Dummer, 54, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore. Alberta was born Jan. 23, 1963 to Leonard and Rita (Kryzinowski) Blaszak in Elmhurst.
She graduated from Northern Illinois University with her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Alberta taught for 25 years at Central School and the last five years being at Lincoln School. She loved Disney, taking trips as often as four times a year and animals, especially her dogs and horses. Alberta was a devoted mother, loving sister and a strong advocate for metastatic breast cancer awareness.

In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Rich Ranahan.
Alberta is survived by her two sons, Cameron (Christina) Dummer and Trace Dummer; sister, Patricia Ranahan; and two brothers, James (Adelina) Blaszak and Charles Blaszak.
The visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 21 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth Street, Rochelle. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 22 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Calvin Road, with Pastor Doug Forsberg officiating.
Cremation rites will be accorded after the service. Memorials may be made to the David Crawford Foundation, to enhance the quality of Education for the Children of Rochelle.
