ROCHELLE –– Rochelle CROP Hunger Walk to be held on Sunday, Oct. 1. Registration will begin at 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church and the walk will step off at 1:30 p.m. The walking route will take walkers to United Methodist Church and then return to First Presbyterian.

Those interested in having their organization become involved should contact Kurt Wolter at kwolter@gmail.com.
This is the 21st anniversary of the Rochelle CROP Hunger Walk. Looking to make a difference in our local community and in communities worldwide, the Rochelle CROP Hunger Walk has set a 2017 goal of 100 walkers and hopes to raise $4,000. Twenty five percent of the funds raised in the Rochelle C.R.O.P. Hunger Walk will go to the Rochelle Food Pantry, the Kitchen Table, and the Ashton Food Pantry. Seventy five percent of the money will go to Church World Service toward relief efforts here in United States and throughout the world. Last year, 62 walkers raised more than $4,000 through Rochelle’s C.R.O.P. Hunger Walk.
The goal of the C.R.O.P Hunger Walk is to help end hunger and poverty through long-term sustainable approaches to significantly reduce or eliminate hunger. CROP began in 1947 and stands for Church Rural Overseas Program. It brings together all members of our community - young and old, all faiths and walks of life for a common goal - to end hunger, one step at a time.
