Annual dinner set for March 21

ROCHELLE — Employees in economic development often work behind the scenes; nonetheless, their contributions are a critical component to a region’s success in more ways than one.
“Economic Development — Partners for our Future” is this year’s theme for the 19th State of the Community Dinner, scheduled for Thursday, March 21 at Abraham’s.
The event is sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the Rochelle Area Chamber of Commerce and includes cash bar beginning at 6 p.m., followed with dinner at 6:30 and the program at 7:30.
The community event is an opportunity for citizens to attend an educational and informational program about the economic development aspects of the city of Rochelle and with local businesses and industries.

Speakers include Adriana Milan and Michelle Pease with the city of Rochelle; Dan Lundquist, Americold; and Rochelle Fallan Lowe, Bright Farms. There will be a segment for audience questions and comments following speaker presentations.
“This is a great opportunity to hear about the operations of Americold and Bright Farms and how the city attracts and retains business,” Eileen Liezert, LOWV President. “Rochelle has leveraged its assets as a transportation hub with strong infrastructure to build an economic base that benefits the entire community. Come for dinner, visit with friends and enjoy the presentations.”
Reservations
To make a reservation, contact the Chamber office at 562-4189. The cost of the event will be $29 per person.
“Citizens, leaders and companies are encouraged to enjoy a fine social event and to learn more about economic development aspects of the city of Rochelle with our local businesses and industrial partners,” LOWV member Diane McNeilly said. “The League and Chamber hope that this dinner and program provides participants with new ideas on ways to support these local businesses and industries. Working together, public and governmental bodies can make the Rochelle area a more prosperous and healthy community for all.”
