Annual food drive brings in record donations

Posted

ROCHELLE — Staff at Rochelle Community Hospital rose to the challenge to fill CEO Mark Batty’s office with food and monetary donations for the annual Thanksgiving food drive.
On Thursday afternoon, several representatives headed over to Anderson Plumbing & Heating with $736 and loads of food and paper goods that had been collected over the past several weeks.

All money and food collected will be going to the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry to help those in need this holiday season.
“RCH employees have been helping to provide a great Thanksgiving to others in the community since the food drive was first introduced 13 years ago,” said Janet Stewart, RCH Marketing/Public Relations Coordinator. “Thank you to all who donated and to Good Time Oldies 1060AM/102.3FM The Coyote for their efforts in coordinating this event.”
The Rochelle community also came through in a big way, helping to collect over $9,000 and three tons of food.
Distribution of the food was held on Saturday, Nov. 17.
