ROCHELLE — The Rochelle area is digging out after the first snowstorm of the season brought anywhere between 7 and 12 inches. Locally residents have been reporting over a foot of snow in some places.
Sunday afternoon and evening brought heavy snows and high winds, causing blizzard conditions with many motorists being stranded.
As of early Monday, several east-west roads, including IL Route 38 and IL Route 64 were closed or down to one lane in spots. All schools in the area and in Ogle County are closed Monday, including Kishwaukee College and Northern Illinois University.
The City of Rochelle is notifying residents of the odd/even parking ordinance in effect. On odd numbered dates, park on the odd numbered side of the street. On even numbered dates, such as today, Nov. 26, park on the even numbered side of the street.
The Ogle County Judicial Center and Courthouse is closed for the day.
