ROCHELLE — Arlene R. Chidley, 83, passed away Monday, Feb. 19, 2018 in Franklin Grove. Arlene was born on April 11, 1934 to Fred and Edna (Hattendorf) Redeker in Schaumburg.
She married Kent Chidley on Oct. 22, 1955 in Palatine. The role Arlene enjoyed most was being a farm wife and a stay-at-home mom. She also enjoyed her time as a CNA at Rochelle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and working in the Rockford area in home health care.
Arlene is survived by her husband of 62 years, Kent, of Rochelle; two children, Kevin (Lisa) Chidley of Rochelle and Michele Barrett of Spring Grove, Penn.; two brothers, Fredrick (Jeanette) Redeker of Huntley, and Glenn (Beth) Redeker of Elgin; sister, Lois (Arnold) Goebbert of Arlington Heights; six grandchildren, Andrew (Danielle Hughes) Chidley, Matt (Josie) Mitchell, Sara Mitchell, Kenneth Ness, Alison Larison and Taylor Martin; three great-grandchildren, Chase, Jack and Camryn and a baby due in June; and many nieces and nephews and her special caregiver, Melinda Gocken.
The visitation will be from 2 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 26 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1415 10th Ave., Rochelle, with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lawnridge Cemetery in Rochelle.
Memorials may be made in Arlene’s memory to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
