Family and friends of Aubrey Headon gathered Friday to give her a send-off as she heads to Ireland to compete with the U.S. International Wheelchair Ambulatory sports team. She will participate on July 3 and 4 in the 100 meter, 200 meter, long jump, and shot put competitions. This is Headon’s first trip to Ireland. Eight family members will join her for the week. “We are so excited and proud of how hard she has worked to compete,” says Headon’s mom, Cass. (Photos by Lori Hammelman)
