Connie Avery accepts two books from author Charles Roberts, Jr. on behalf of the Flagg-Rochelle Public Library. Both books deal with WWII history. One entitled “Armored Strike Force” recounts the usage of tanks in an American Independent Tank Battalion from 1940 to 1945. The other entitled “The Boat that Won the War” reviews the history of the Higgins Boat (LCVP) landing craft. (Photo submitted)
