ROCHELLE — Barbara Jean Bearrows, 72, passed away Thursday, Feb. 2 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Barb was born on July 10, 1950 to Jean B. and Dorothy M. (Nawalaniec) Hutson in Woodstock, Illinois. On June 19, 1971, she married Paul Bearrows in Rochelle.  

Barb was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rochelle where she had served as a Deacon. She was also very active in Tres Dias for many years. Barb was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 903 and the Academy of Friendship.

Barb is survived by her husband of 51 years, Paul of Rochelle; her son, Matthew Bearrows of Rochelle; two brothers, Craig Hutson of Schaumburg, Illinois and Michael (Jennifer) Hutson of Winnebago; and sister, Pat Kromrie of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Barb was preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Jean in 1974 and her sister, Diane Johnson in 2020.

The visitation will be from 9-11 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1100 Calvin Road, Rochelle. The memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Doug Forsberg officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle. Memorials may be made in Barb’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church or to Moose Charities, write Donor’s Circle in the memo, which will go to the support of Mooseheart.
