TRUMANN, Ark. — Barbara J. Speakman, 82, of Trumann, Ark., passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, Fla.
Barbara was born Jan. 2, 1935 to Aaron and Lorena Castille Brooks in Athens, Ala. She had a passion for word puzzles and watching various game shows.
She married Gerald Speakman on Oct. 27, 1959 in Michigan City, Ind.
Barbara worked in maintenance for Eaton Corporation in Rochelle for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Speakman; her son, Gary Speakman; her parents; five sisters, Marjorie, Ruby, Susie, Lucille, and Mable; and four brothers, Horace, Otis, Ottis, and Edward.
Barbara is survived by her four daughters, Sue (Gene) Prosch of Jacksonville, Fla., Chris (Bill) Beck of Jacksonville, Fla., Jackie Gooding of Whitefish Bay, Wis., and Gail Reints of Downers Grove; eight grandchildren, Kim Prosch, Alicia (Milan) Svircev, Jimmy Speakman, Tabitha (Alex) Horton, Mike (Alycia) Gooding, Joe Gooding, Justin Reints and Shelby Reints; and five great-grandchildren, Mila Svircev, Aaron Speakman, Anika Preder, Autumn Gooding, and Jackson Gooding.
There will not be a service; condolences can be sent to Sue Prosch on behalf of the family at 14883 Fanning Springs Ct., Jacksonville, FL 32258.
