ROCHELLE — A fundraising benefit is planned for local resident Alma Herrera, who is battling pancreatic cancer.
The benefit will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 2 to 11 p.m. at the Salon de Eloy Cerbantes, located at 6520 North 20th Street in Rochelle.
A variety of Mexican dishes and music will be provided for guests, who are all encouraged to attend and show Herrera she is not alone in her battle.
Herrera was diagnosed in April 2017 and is still fighting the disease, but she currently has to have chemotherapy treatments every two weeks and uses a feeding tube for nourishment because she cannot eat on her own.
