ROCHELLE — Betty Lorraine Ferrari, 93, of Rochelle, passed away peacefully at home in the presence of family on Sept. 19, 2018. She was born July 9, 1925 in Peoria, and was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She was a talented artist, made beautiful paintings, and could often be found crocheting, sewing, or involved in a crafty project.
Betty was the loving mother of 11 children, grandmother to 19 and great-grandmother to 12. She is survived by her children Paul Ferrari of Chattanooga, Tennessee, David (Barb) Ferrari of Homewood, Mary (Joseph) Bartoli of Ashton, John Ferrari of Rochelle, Teresa (Bill) Steder of Elgin, Sue (Paul) Carlson of Rochelle, Elizabeth (Mark) Brown of Rochelle, Joseph (Linda Fox) Ferrari of Baltimore, Maryland, Pete (Alice) Ferrari of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Steven Ferrari of Moriarty, New Mexico; as well as a step sister, Betty Jean Barnum of Chicago.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Max Ferrari; her parents Hayo and Fredia Campen; three siblings, Willis Campen, Donna Butenas and Marguerite Wright; a deceased daughter, Joan Ferrari; as well as a grandchild, Michael Bartoli.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Beverage-Lyons Family Funeral Home, 704 N. 6th St. Rochelle.
Funeral services will be held the next day on Monday, Sept. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Rochelle. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Rochelle.
