ROCHELLE — Betty Isley, 89, passed away Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018, at River Bluff Nursing Home in Rockford. Betty was born Feb. 20, 1928 in Steward, the daughter of Orin and Florance (Furman) Brown. She married Paul D. Isley in 1948.
Betty worked at the Del Monte can plant for many years until she retired. She enjoyed cross-stitching, reading Amish books, and putting together puzzles. Along with her husband, Betty was a big supporter of the Floyd J. Tilton VFW Post 3878. She was also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Rochelle Moose.
Betty is survived by three sons, Paul Darrel (Rose) Isley of Roscoe, Jim (Diane) Isley of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., and Robert (Kathy) Isley of Crawfordsville, Ind.; two daughters, Cindy Sims of Belvidere and Sharon (Dustin) Hicks of Compton; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Paul D. Isley; a son, Joe Isley; three brothers; and one sister.
A funeral service will held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St. in Rochelle with Pastor Gregory Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be from 10-10:50 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
