ROCHELLE — Beverly A. Strouse, 80, of Rochelle, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Rochelle Community Hospital.
She was born on May 29, 1938, in Belvidere, the daughter of Clarence and Mildred (Meyers) Kohlberg, Beverly married Clyde M. Strouse on Feb. 4, 1961 in Crystal Lake.
Beverly was a crossing guard in DeKalb and Rochelle for more than 20 years. She enjoyed watching parachute jumpers at The Landing in Rochelle and watching Court TV. She was an avid reader and had a Christmas Village that occupied three rooms in her home.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde; her daughter, Lyne (Randy) Meyerholz of Waterman; sister, Dorothy (Gary) Davis of Tennessee; two brothers, Jerry (Bonnie) Kohlberg of Marengo, and Clifford (Amy) Kohlberg of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Nov. 17 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Clifton Township Community Center, 160 W. Lincoln Highway in Waterman. Interment of cremated remains will be at a later date.
