DIXON — On Monday, April 19, first lady Dr. Jill Biden, along with education secretary Miguel Cardona, will travel to Dixon to visit Sauk Valley Community College.

The duo will arrive at 11 a.m. at Quad Cities International Airport in Moline where they will meet with a group from the press.

At 12:30 p.m., Biden, Cardona and Gov. JB Pritzker will tour Sauk Valley Community College. Following the tour, the first lady and secretary will deliver remarks to a press pool.

Biden plans to talk about the college’s program that would allow students to earn tuition by volunteering in the community. She has been a longtime advocate of community colleges and has, herself, been a professor at community colleges.

It’s Biden’s and Cardona’s first visit to Illinois as first lady and secretary of education.

By 3:45 p.m., they’ll be at Chicago Rockford International Airport for their departure. While at the airport, they’ll meet with the press.
