ROCHELLE — The Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District bike path maintenance project will officially begin on Monday, Aug. 7.
“While we will do our best to keep the path open, there will be times that portions of the bike path will need to be closed to pedestrian traffic,” explained park director Roger Bunger.
Prior to and during the paving process, larger portions of the path will be closed until paving is complete. For safety reasons, residents are being asked to be aware of the construction and respect the barricading that may be present and avoid those areas until the work completes.
Residents should also be reminded that the new bike path extension west of 20th Street is open and will remain open during this maintenance project.
Any questions can be directed to the Park District Office, 735 N. Second St. in Rochelle at 815-562-7813.
