BNSF Railway work began June 7

Work will begin at Steam Plant Road, moving west to Oregon, closing one crossing at a time. The crew will then come back through a second time moving west to east to complete the project. This project does not include the Washington Street and Route 38 crossings.

ROCHELLE – Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad has notified the City of Rochelle of rail crossing work beginning June 7 in the early morning hours. Work will begin at Steam Plant Road, moving west to Oregon, closing one crossing at a time. The crew will then come back through a second time moving west to east to complete the project. This project does not include the Washington Street and Route 38 crossings. 

Advance warning, detour and other temporary traffic control devices will be posted near the affected area. Please use caution while traveling in this area and pay special attention to the advanced warning signage, road closed signage and other temporary traffic control devices within or in advance of the work zone. The City of Rochelle said it appreciates the community’s patience during the project.
