Ogle County residents can start calling the Ogle County Health Department to schedule an appointment for their booster shots for COVID-19 if they qualify, a Thursday press release said. Appointments are being taken for either the Rochelle or Oregon offices.

Booster COVID-19 doses available to immunocompromised

OREGON – Ogle County residents can start calling the Ogle County Health Department to schedule an appointment for their booster shots for COVID-19 if they qualify, a Thursday press release said. Appointments are being taken for either the Rochelle or Oregon offices.

Booster/third dose shots are currently available to those who are moderately to severely immunocompromised.

Those eligible include people who are receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood, received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system, received a stem cell transplant within the last two years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system, have moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome or Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome), have advanced or untreated HIV infection or are in active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response.
