ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Hub sophomore basketball team fell 59-42 against Ottawa on Wednesday. Raul Aguirre led Rochelle with 14 points, while Landon DeLille added nine points. Daniel Monfils totaled eight points and made two 3-pointers in the loss to the Pirates.
Ottawa led 18-13 after the first quarter. Aguirre and Aidan Darby spearheaded the Hub offense early, with the two forwards combining for seven points. Monfils and Garrett Gensler each knocked down 3-pointers for Rochelle in the opening quarter. The Pirates led 26-19 at halftime.
Rochelle nailed three triples in the third quarter courtesy of DeLille, Monfils and David Gerber, who each converted one. While both teams scored 17 points in the third quarter, Ottawa dominated the fourth quarter 16-6 to seal the victory. Rochelle fell to 3-5 with the loss.
