STILLMAN VALLEY — The Rochelle Hub varsity basketball team fell just short in its attempt for back-to-back nonconference wins Thursday evening, when Owen Dunseth carried Stillman Valley with 29 points as the Cardinals held off the Hubs 62-57. Sophomore Carson Lewis led Rochelle with 15 points and five rebounds.

While the Hubs dominated the offensive glass, outrebounding Stillman Valley 14-4 on the offensive end, Rochelle shot only 37.9 percent from the field and finished 5-for-20 from 3-point range as well as 8-for-17 from the free-throw line. The Hubs capitalized on their offensive rebounds, outscoring the Cardinals 12-1 on second chance points.
