ROCHELLE — Senior Dallas Driver rolled a team-best 621 series to lead the Rochelle varsity boys bowling team against Ottawa at T-Byrd Lanes on Tuesday. The Hubs snapped a two-match losing streak, beating the Pirates 3,033-2,909 to improve to 3-4 overall and earn eight conference points.
Ottawa took the opening game over Rochelle 977-915 behind 218 from Truman Lane. Driver led the Hubs with 194 in the first game before shooting 217 in the second game. Senior Tyler Johnson added a team-high 231 and senior Brady Shank recorded 222 as Rochelle topped the Pirates 1,067-931 in the middle game.
The Hubs sealed their victory with a 1,051-1,001 win in the third game behind junior Logan Ortega’s 224 and Driver’s 210. Johnson added 188 for a 595 series and Shank shot 175 for a 568 series. Vinnie Parise led the Pirates with 235 in the final game for a 592 series score.
