GENESEO — The Rochelle varsity boys bowling team faced Geneseo at Lee’s Lanes on Thursday, with the Hubs dropping all three games to the Maple Leafs and falling by a final count of 3,361-3,004 to fall to 4-9 on the season.
Geneseo won the first game 1,093-1,016 behind 246 from Kyle Cones and 203 from Justin Ford. Senior Brady Shank led the Hubs with 215 in the opening game, while senior Tyler Johnson added 214 for Rochelle.
The Maple Leafs took a commanding lead by winning the second game over Rochelle 1,145-1,099. Three players broke 200 for Geneseo including Cones (210), Ford (204) and Tyler Durnell (203). Senior Dallas Driver shot a match-best 257 for the Hubs, with Shank scoring 205 and Johnson chipping in 202.
Geneseo completed its sweep of the Hubs by taking the third game 1,123-889. Sebastian Einfeldt rolled 223 while Cones shot 202 for a match-best 658 series. Shank finished with 604 to lead Rochelle, with Driver recording 591 and Johnson adding 586.
