PERU — Hub bowlers Devansh Patel and Keith Holland spearheaded the charge for the Rochelle varsity bowling team on Wednesday, when the Hubs fell 3,466-2,661 against the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers at the Illinois Valley Super Bowl. Rochelle dropped to 0-2 overall with the loss.
LaSalle-Peru defeated Rochelle 1,125-807 in the first game behind 226 from Landen Miller and 216 from Ethan Picco. The Cavaliers extended their lead with a 1,273-912 win in the second game courtesy of a 270 from Payton Baker and 255 from Picco. Junior Hayden Smith fired 176 for the Hubs in the second game, while Patel added 166 and Holland chipped in 161.
LaSalle-Peru won the third game 1,068-942. Baker rolled 210 to finish with a 662 series, while Picco shot 184 for a 655 series and Miller totaled 225 for a 642 series. Patel recorded 177 to end the evening with Rochelle’s team-high 495 series, while Holland shot a team-best 193 to finish with a 486 series. The Hubs will host Ottawa on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 4 p.m.
