STERLING — The Rochelle Hub varsity bowling team continued nonconference action against Sterling on Monday, falling 3,282-2,964 and dropping to 1-6 on the season. Senior Devansh Patel rolled a team-high 587 series for the Hubs, while senior Sergio Guevara fired a 566.
Sterling opened the match with a 1,083-982 victory in the first game. Tristan Oelrichs scored 257 and Andrew Doughty recorded 218 to lead the Golden Warriors, while junior Evin Odle bowled 201 to anchor the Hubs. Sterling surged ahead with a 1,188-1,001 win in the second game behind 263 from Ethan Melcher, 214 from Oelrichs and 203 from Doughty.
The Golden Warriors clinched the match with a 1,011-981 victory in the third game. Patel rolled a 214 to lead the Hubs, with Guevara adding 181 after shooting 212 in the second game.
