ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Hub varsity tennis team hosted Dixon in nonconference action Tuesday afternoon, falling 9-0 and dropping to 0-5 on the season. The Hubs will host Morris on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. before taking on Freeport at home on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Sophomore David Wanner fell 0-6, 0-6 against Lucas Healy at No. 1 singles, while junior Alex Gilbert lost 0-6, 1-6 against Logan Moeller at No. 2 singles. Junior Devansh Patel suffered a 0-6, 1-6 loss to Leith Elbzour at No. 3 singles and junior Peter Forsberg fell 0-6, 0-6 against Owen Grot at No. 4 singles. Sophomores Owen Haas and Evin Odle took the court at No. 5 singles and No. 6 singles, falling 0-6, 1-6 to Landon Juckel and 1-6, 2-6 to Alex Ullrich, respectively.
In doubles action, Wanner and Haas teamed up at No. 1 doubles, losing 1-6, 2-6 against Moeller and Elbzour while Gilbert and Forsberg dropped the No. 2 doubles match 0-6, 0-6 against Healy and Juckel. Patel and Odle lost 2-6, 1-6 against Ullrich and Grot at No. 3 doubles.
