ROCKFORD — The Rochelle varsity tennis team nailed down its fourth victory in six matches on Tuesday. The Hubs defeated Rockford East for the second time this season, winning by a score of 3-1 to improve to 4-18 on the season.
Senior Emilio Nava topped Chad Monmany in three sets at No. 1 singles, winning 6-1, 3-6, 10-8. Freshman Jason Zheng fell 0-6, 2-6 against Evariste Amuri at No. 2 singles. Seniors Hector Garcia and Diego Lopez teamed up to win 6-1, 6-3 over Sully Reilly and Ebin Warner at No. 1 doubles, while senior Alex Galambos and junior Gabe Nava won 6-1, 6-0 over Paul Taung and Eli Freet at No. 2 doubles.
