Rochelle senior Mason DeLille’s record-setting performance in the triple jump highlighted the varsity boys track and field team’s efforts during the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference Championships on Friday. DeLille won the conference title with a mark of 44-7 ½ which clears the 2012 record of 44 feet set by Chris Williams. Rochelle’s varsity team took ninth place with 25 points, while the fresh-soph team finished ninth with eight points.

LASALLE — Rochelle senior Mason DeLille’s record-setting performance in the triple jump highlighted the varsity boys track and field team’s efforts during the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference Championships on Friday. DeLille won the conference title with a mark of 44-7 ½ which clears the 2012 record of 44 feet set by Chris Williams. Rochelle’s varsity team took ninth place with 25 points, while the fresh-soph team finished ninth with eight points.

Varsity

Juniors Jazper Murray and Jacob Eul placed 16th and 17th in the 100-meter dash with times of 12.77 and 12.85 seconds, respectively. Juniors Nick Albers and Zach Akey took 16th and 17th in the 200-meter dash with respective times of 27.09 and 28.28.

Senior Connor Lenkaitis and junior Parker Hale finished 10th and 13th in the 400-meter dash with times of 54.98 and 58.37, respectively. Junior Gyvanziel Quinonez and senior Jessee Infante placed sixth and 11th in the 800-meter run with respective times of 2:02.72 and 2:11.23.

Juniors Santi Cordoba and Tucker Louis finished 14th and 15th in the 1600-meter run with times of 4:59.75 and 5:00.21, respectively. Seniors Ryan Friestad and Dylan Finkboner earned conference medals in the 110-meter hurdles, taking fourth and sixth with respective times of 17.01 and 17.71. Finkboner finished eighth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 45.63.

Rochelle placed ninth in the 400-meter relay (Michael Ramsey, Ben Hickey, Greg Ricketts and Dallas List) with a time of 47.38. The Hubs took ninth in the 800-meter relay (Ramsey, Hickey, Ricketts and List) with a time of 1:39.65 and eighth in the 1600-meter relay (Connor Lenkaitis, Hickey, Ricketts and Gyvanziel Quinonez) with a time of 3:47.72.

Rochelle took fourth in the 3200-meter relay (Jessee Infante, Tucker Louis, Seth Gould and Santi Cordoba) with a time of 8:40.22. Mason DeLille and Parker Hale took fifth and sixth in the high jump with clearances of 5-7 and sophomore Trevor Goodwin placed fifth in the triple jump with a mark of 40-1 ½. Junior Riley Patrick finished 15th in the long jump with a mark of 16-8 ½.

Fresh-Soph

Freshman Michael Ramsey took ninth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.26. Sophomore Sterling Devers and freshman Max Orlikowski placed 12th and 13th in the 200-meter dash with times of 28.80 and 29.33, respectively.

Sophomore Aiden Seldal finished 11th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:18.52 and freshman Josue Huerta took 15th in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:07.29. Seldal and Huerta placed 10th and 11th in the 3200-meter run with respective times of 11:17.49 and 11:20.97. Trevor Goodwin took third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.50 and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 46.50.

Rochelle placed 10th in the 400-meter relay (Bryton DiSimoni, Luke Orlikowski, Sterling Devers and Shepard Hayes) with a time of 50.89 and eighth in the 800-meter relay (DiSimoni, Max Orlikowski, Devers and Hayes) with a time of 1:49.59. The Hubs took eighth in the 1600-meter relay (Ramsey, Luke Orlikowski, Aiden Seldal and Trevor Goodwin) with a time of 4:04.72.

Sophomore Oscar Aguirre finished 11th in the shot put with a mark of 33-9 and fifth in the discus with a mark of 102-5. Bryton DiSimoni took 17th in the long jump with a mark of 16-4 and 12th in the triple jump with a mark of 34-4.
