On April 3 at 7:53 a.m., the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Leaf River Fire Department and Leaf River Ambulance responded to a two-vehicle roll-over accident in the 8000 block of N. Pecatonica Road. A semi tractor trailer combination was northbound on Pecatonica Road from Leaf River followed by a Buick Enclave. The semi tractor trailer combination slowed to make a left turn into a parking lot when the Buick attempted to pass the semi tractor trailer combination on the left. The semi tractor trailer struck the Buick on the passenger side causing the Buick to roll over into the west side ditch and strike a utility pole before coming to a stop on its side. The driver of the Buick, Diane Hemmersbach, 51, of Leaf River, was extricated from the vehicle by the Leaf River Fire Department. She refused medical treatment and was released at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
