ROCHELLE — Careless use of a lighter was determined as a the cause of a Rochelle fire on Tuesday.
There were no injuries in the early morning blaze, contained in a first floor bedroom in an apartment located at 614 Lincoln Highway.
Crews from Rochelle, Hillcrest, Steward, and Flagg Center fire departments responded, extinguishing the fire. The apartment sustained smoke and water damage at an estimated cost under $10,000.
