ROCHELLE — After claiming the series opener behind a no-hitter by Nolan Andersen, the Hubs freshman baseball team dropped a pair of games to the LaSalle-Peru Cavaliers, falling to 7-7 on the season.
Charlie Jandak drove in Ethan Etes for Rochelle’s lone run in a 12-1 loss on Thursday, and Jandak finished going 1-for-2 at the plate along with Keegan Davis, who also went 1-for-2. Seth Gould and Devlen Buh teamed up to do the pitching for the Hubs.
Gould and Davis combined for three of Rochelle’s four RBIs in an 8-4 loss on Friday, while Etes also plated one run. Gould finished 2-for-3 at the plate, with Andersen, Davis and Etes each notching one hit. Kaleb Hess started on the mound for the Hubs, with Jandak and Etes throwing in relief.
