ROCHELLE — Rochelle Police investigated a fatal accident that took place Friday morning at a local industry.
Emergency personnel were called to Coated Sand Solutions, 1951 Steward Road, a short time before 11 a.m. Friday.
It was reported that a male subject from Chana was on the side ladder of a rail car on the east side of the facility when he was pinned between the rail car and a parked semi-truck.
The man was transported by ambulance to Rochelle Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead. On Saturday afternoon, Ogle County Coroner Lou Finch identified the victim as Ethan Thomas, 35, of Chana.
Finch is expected to conduct an autopsy Monday.
