ROCHELLE — Charlotte Hacker nee Haas, 86, of Rochelle, passed away on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 at Wauconda Care Rehab in Wauconda. She was born Aug. 13, 1930 in Traben-Trarbach, Germany, the daughter of Julius Haas and Sybilla (Schoemann) Haas.

ROCHELLE — Charlotte Hacker nee Haas, 86, of Rochelle, passed away on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 at Wauconda Care Rehab in Wauconda. She was born Aug. 13, 1930 in Traben-Trarbach, Germany, the daughter of Julius Haas and Sybilla (Schoemann) Haas.
Charlotte married “the love of her life,” the late Donald Hacker, on Nov. 3, 1951 in Chicago. She retired from Central States Pension Fund where she worked for 40 years. Charlotte served on the board and was an active member of the HUB City Senior Center in Rochelle.
Survivors include her daughter, Rev. Donna (Lawrence) Smith; son, David (Janet) Hacker; sister, Angela (Walter) Schneider; brother, Guy (Lucy) Haas; two grandchildren, Cindy and Jennifer Hacker; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
As per Charlotte’s wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements by DuPage Cremations, Ltd. and Memorial Chapel, (630) 293-5200.
