ROCHELLE — Three elected representatives of the Illinois state government will be speaking at First Baptist Church Sunday, Jan. 21. This Legislative Sunday will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the church located at 810 Woolf Ct. in Rochelle.
Rep. Tom Demmer and Sen. Tim Bivins will be speaking about legislative issues in each of their respective houses of the legislature.  The Rochelle community is included in each of their districts.

The third speaker will be Rep. Jeanne Ives (R) of Wheaton, who has announced her bid to run for Governor of Illinois.  Ives was elected to the legislature in 2013 from the 42nd Illinois House District.  Rep. Ives is a West Point military academy graduate, veteran, and mother of five.  She will be introducing her campaign to the Rochelle area and extending a question-and-answer segment.
Rev. Bob Vanden Bosch, a Christian lobbyist, will be speaking earlier in the morning at 9:30 am about a variety of legislation making its way through the statehouse.
A complementary luncheon will be served in the church gym for all in attendance following the church’s Legislative Sunday schedule.  The entire community is invited to come meet our area legislators and to hear a gubernatorial candidate.
First Baptist Church is located six blocks west of IL Route 251 at the corner of Eighth Ave. and Woolf Ct.
