ROCHELLE — Clara “Dolly” Elizabeth Edwards, 98, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020 at the Rochelle Community Hospital.
Dolly was born on Aug. 24, 1922 to Conrad and Lorena (Martinson) Erickson in Ogle County. On Oct. 25, 1942, she married Ralph “Budd” W. Edwards in Creston.  
Dolly was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Creston since 1930, where she held many offices through the years. She also served on the Creston Grade School Board for nine years. Dolly and her mother, Lorena, had the Double “E” Lunchroom in Creston for 20 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Ralph “Budd” Edwards; son and daughter-in-law, Loren and Rosemary Edwards; and two daughters, Bonnie Seigel and Cheri Schneider.
Dolly is survived by two sons-in-law, John (Debbie) Seigel and Don (Marsha) Schneider; 10 grandchildren, Brigitte Seigel, Sabina (Rob) Featherston, Katja (Jonathan) Starkey, Martina (John) Drewes, Lynn (Rod) Burnette, Brian (Kim) Edwards, Carrie (Eric) Higby, Nathan (Hannah) Schneider, Nolan (Ashley) Schneider and Brianne (Chad Stanek) Schneider; 31 great-grandchildren, Logan and Lucas Burnette, Bryce and Jadyn Edwards, Hannah Goodnite, Garrett Goodnite, Kiley and Kendell Frankenberry, Gillian and Quinn Higby, Josiah Howard, Mariah (Collin) Hall, Jeremiah (Kate), Sarah, Zach, Micah and Bekah Seigel, Gadisa, Kiya, and Kaleb Starkey, Theodore, Vanessa, Alicia, Alexander, Lauren and Nicholas Drewes, Katelyn, Lucas, William, Nora, Liam Schneider and one more great-granddaughter on the way; and two great-great-grandchildren, Kinzley Goodnite and Olive Hall.
For those who would like to pay their respects to Dolly directly, there will be a walk-thru viewing with no family present from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle. There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Creston with Pastor Steve Woita officiating. The service will be live streamed on the Unger-Horner Funeral Home Facebook page.  
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dolly’s memory to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Creston, the Creston Dement Public Library or the Creston Fire Department.
