Cleaning up around town

ROCHELLE — Last weekend, the Rochelle Township High School Interact Club partnered with Rochelle City Manager Jeff Fiegenschuh and the Rochelle Police Department in order to clean up graffiti around town.
“We have been noticing more graffiti this year and thought a clean-up project would be a great opportunity to get more community buy-in for continued city beautification,” Fiegenschuh said. “When we approached [the high school], the students and their advisors jumped immediately at the opportunity.”
Interact students worked at several locations in Rochelle to paint and clean-up graffiti.

“We wanted to do a project that would help make the community look nicer, and the graffiti project was a perfect afternoon for the Interact Club,” advisor Alison Vrana said.
“I am very happy with the results and hope to continue these cooperative efforts with RTHS and other civic organizations,” Fiegenschuh added.
