Clovers 4-H Club ready for new year

Posted

ROCHELLE — The Ogle County Clovers is a lively 4-H Club ready to begin an exciting, new 4-H year.
The group started out a recent meeting with fun and games to get to know one another, and afterwards the members began their business meeting. They discussed future activities and events that they will be taking part in, and accomplishments that would like to get done this year. They also voted on their new officers.
New officers Becky Ackland and Carley Ackland were congratulated, while new 4-H members will be learing all about 4-H.
The Ogle County 4-H Club members were honored to decorate the Rochelle United Methodist Church’s windows for their National 4-H week display. Energetic 4-Hers had a blast planning a catchy phrase and creative design for their display. They used construction paper to make an enormous world and dozens of four-leaf-clovers. They came up with the ingenious catch-phrase: “Join 4-H and Be a World Changer!”

Since this year’s parade theme was “Music-Now and Then,” they had a musical-themed float. They decorated there float with colorful streamers and balloons. The group sang along with Callie Ackland playing on the guitar. This year, the Ogle County Clovers received first place prize in the Autumn On Parade. It isn’t too late to join in the fun.
All youth ages 5 through 18 are active in 4-H and the Ogle County Clovers are welcoming all to join their club.
The group meets at the Rochelle United Methodist Church in Hicks Hall on every second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The next meeting is on Nov. 19. Call or text Becky Ackland at 815-751-2483 for more information.
