ROCKFORD — Clyde L. Clubb, 94, Rockford, formerly of Greenville, Mo., and Rochelle, passed away Nov. 22 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon.
He was born May 18, 1923 in Wayne County, Mo., to the late John F. and Fannie B. (Allen) Clubb.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin “Joe” Clubb, Carl M. Clubb, and two sisters, Ruby White and Betty Fox.
He is survived by his twin daughters, Denise (Marty) Winterland, of Chana, and Deb (Dan) Bond, of Stillman Valley; two brothers, Roy “Leon” (Dorothy) Clubb, of Greenville, Mo., James “Leroy” Clubb of Maplewood, Mo.; one sister, Rosetta Vandergriff, of Greenville, Mo.; six grandchildren, Valerie (Ed) Rowland, of Oregon, Kimberly Hansen, of Oregon, Brad (Heather) Winterland, of Ashton, Alka Bond, of Stillman Valley, Aleana Bond, of Houston, Texas, and Nathan Bond, of Indianapolis, Ind.; six great-grandchildren, Madison and Nolan Page, Mya Hansen, and Cameryn, Chandler, and Raine Winterland; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
He proudly served in the Army Air Corp. from March 26, 1943 to Jan. 4, 1946. He moved to Rochelle after serving and retired from the former Swift (Rochelle Foods), where he took many continued education courses to be a skilled mechanic.
Clyde was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church Greenville, Mo., Masonic Lodge 244, Rochelle since September 1953 and Greenville, Mo., Tebala Shriners, Rockford, since May 1961. He sponsored some children to receive care at the Shriners hospitals in St. Louis and Chicago.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge 903, Rochelle, for more than 50 years and Knights of Columbus since 1954. He was also a member of the American Legion Popular Bluff, Mo., a member of the Eastern Star and served as Commander of the VFW post 3878 in Rochelle from 1960 – 1961.
Funeral arrangements were arranged by Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville, Mo. Visitation was Nov. 27 and funeral Nov. 28 in Greenville.
