ROCHELLE — Clyde T. Patterson, 87, of Rochelle, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the Rochelle Community Hospital. Clyde was born on Aug. 6, 1935 to Johnny James and Clara Louida (Walker) Patterson. On Jan. 31, 1963, he married Bernita Ann Johnson in Rochelle.
Clyde loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He liked watching wrestling on TV, fishing, and watching his betta fish dance in the aquarium.
Clyde is survived by his four children: Clara Buri, Constance “Connie” Wirtz, Clyde Patterson, and Kathy (Jesse) Davis; 16 grandchildren: Chrissy Norris, Stephanie Hannenbaum, Anthony and Arden Williams, Bridgett Douglas, Erick and Kyle Ware, Christopher and Jennifer Purdy, Colton, Zachery, Seth Patterson, Amber Robins, Hayley, Kylee and Austin Davis; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bessie Holt.
In addition to his parents, Clyde is preceded in death by his wife, Bernita, on Jan. 31, 2013; two sons: Gerald Williams and Billy Ray Williams; three brothers: Edward, Robert and Reno Patterson; and two sisters, Kathryne Rhodes and Dorothy Lambert.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th St., Rochelle. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14 at the funeral home with Pastor Corey Gilliam officiating. Burial will follow the service at Trinity Memory Gardens in Rochelle.
