ROCHELLE — The Rochelle Area Community Foundation, a publicly supported 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the community through charitable giving, announces its annual grant application period for 2017.
The community foundation will be accepting grant applications during the month of February from non-profit organizations that are 501(c)(3).
“We also fund any tax-exempt organization,” RACF Executive Director Kim Montgomery said. “We consider grant requests from churches, municipalities, teachers and schools.”
Montgomery said there is approximately $55,000 in total grant funding available this year.

Community Needs Grants are awarded on a competitive basis to non-profit agencies, organizations or governmental entities that are exempt from state and federal tax, and serve the needs of individuals residing in the Rochelle Township School District.
Each grant request will be evaluated based on several factors including the potential impact of the request and number of people who will benefit, identification of a clear need and the capacity of the organization or individual to carry out the grant request.
More information on the grant policies and procedures for grant year 2017 are listed on the RACF website, rochellefoundation.org.
Grants are awarded annually in the areas of arts and culture, education, health and community services, community development and hunger relief. Selected grants will be awarded by May 1.
Applications
Applications will be accepted Feb. 1 through March 1. The grant application form is on the RACF website, www.rochellefoundation.org, under the grant seekers tab. The application may be filled out and submitted through the website or by submitting a printed hard copy.
