ROCHELLE — Judging from a packed parking lot and dining area inside Culver’s Restaurant, the Rochelle community overwhelmingly supported the Rochelle Child Care Center Wednesday evening.
The local childcare facility hosted a fundraiser for classroom art supplies and play equipment. Culver’s will give a portion of the sales from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. to the center. Although the sales for the event have not yet been totaled, Sarah Thuestad, center director, said the staff is grateful for the support from the community.
“This is the first time we have ever done this, it’s amazing,” Thuestad said.
The Rochelle Child Care Center staff was busy serving patrons and cleaning tables and thanked the staff at Culver’s for their patience during the event.
“This has been so much fun,” said Rochelle Child Care Center staff employee Monica Perkins.
