Construction work set to begin on interstate ramp

Posted

Dixon – The Illinois Department of Transportation announces today that weather permitting, construction work on the Interstate ramp from Southbound I-39 to Westbound I-88 near Rochelle will begin on Monday, April 10.

William Charles Construction Company is the contractor for the $896,692 project to reconstruct portions of the ramp.

The ramp will be closed during the improvement to allow for removal and replacement of the ramp pavement. Southbound I-39 traffic that wants to go westbound on I-88 should follow the detour signing directing them through the interchange.
Drivers should slow down for the construction zone and be alert for the additional traffic that will be using the inter loop ramps at the interchange for the detour route. The project is scheduled to be completed and the ramp opened by the end of June.
Please slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.
